Quick answer

How do I get rid of a lot of garden waste?

For a few bags, use your council’s garden waste bin or take it to a Kent tip in a car. For anything bigger, such as hedge cuttings from a full day’s work, turf from a new lawn, soil or an old shed, a garden clearance service is quicker. A council garden bin only takes cuttings, leaves and prunings, and Kent tips aren’t designed for large amounts of soil or rubble. We load it all for you and take green waste for composting.

What we clear from gardens

Green waste

Hedge and tree cuttings, branches, leaves, weeds, brambles and grass cuttings in any quantity.

Overgrown gardens

Brambles and long grass cut back, then everything bagged and removed. Ideal before a sale or a new tenancy.

Soil, turf and rubble

Heavy waste from new lawns, patios and raised beds. We bag it on site so nothing is left loose.

Sheds and summer houses

Old sheds dismantled and taken away, including the floor and the contents.

Fencing and decking

Old panels, posts, trellis and rotten decking boards removed safely.

Garden furniture and junk

Broken tables, chairs, trampolines, BBQs, pots and the odd bike frame.

Why a garden bin or tip run often isn't enough

Kent councils’ garden waste bins are good value for regular cuttings, but they take a limited amount of green waste per collection, and only if you’ve paid for a subscription. Soil, turf, timber and sheds aren’t allowed in them at all.

Kent’s tips have their own limits too:

  • You must book a slot for every visit.
  • Soil and rubble count as DIY waste: 4 visits in 4 weeks, with two 50-litre bags or one large item each time. Each bag over the limit costs £5.
  • The sites aren’t designed for large amounts of soil or rubble, and trade waste is turned away.

For a big clear-out, that can mean several weekends of car trips. We do it in one visit.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

It depends on how much waste there is and how heavy it is. Green waste is lighter and cheaper, while soil and turf cost more. Send a photo of the garden and we’ll give you a fixed price.

Both. We can cut back brambles, long grass and shrubs, then bag and remove everything. For ongoing lawn care or tree surgery, you’d need a gardener or a tree surgeon.

Yes. We bag heavy waste on site and remove it in one trip. Let us know roughly how much there is so we bring the right van.

Yes, including the floor and the contents. If the roof is corrugated sheeting that might contain asbestos, let us know first, as that needs a specialist.

Yes. Green waste goes for composting, and wood and metal are recycled. Very little from a garden clearance goes to landfill.

No, as long as we can get into the garden. We’ll send before-and-after photos.
